The Netherlands Approves Military Assistance in Curaçao

THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD – At the request of the Curaçao government, military personnel are deployed to support the Curaçao Police Corps with maintaining public order and safety and guarding and securing vital objects.

Curaçao Militia is also active.

The request has been made by the local authorities because of the large number of public disturbances that have taken place in recent days, such as looting and burning.

Defense in the Caribbean carries out its third main task: supporting the local authorities.
